Avoid watering on windy days, this will cause water to evaporate
more quickly than when there is no wind. When you water on windy days,
less water will reach your landscaping and you will need to water longer
and use more water than on non-windy days.
When watering your lawn, make sure the water reaches the areas needed and not the sidewalk, driveway or road.
When rain is not available, your grass needs water. April through August, water every three to five days.
Soaker hoses or trickle irrigation works best for shrubs and trees.
Timers on hoses or sprinklers give you better control of the amount of water usage.
Install rain sensors on irrigation systems to avoid watering during the rain.
Water plants or your lawn during the earliest and coolest part of the day.
