Hot Cars Advisory

The Danville Police Department would like to remind area residents to take precautions during the summer months to avoid Hot Cars, especially when dealing with small children, older adults and pets. The temperature will rise very quickly in an enclosed space and even more so in a vehicle with glass windows, parked on pavement. Small children, senior citizens, and pets are extremely vulnerable and can suffer from heat related illnesses very quickly. Avoid leaving anyone unattended in a vehicle especially those in the high risk category.

Stay cool and hydrated and check out our Hot Cars Demo at various high traffic locations during the summer. The thermometer may read in excess of 120 degrees but the actual temperature will exceed the limits of the device on display!
