The 2023 Community Holiday Light Show will be December 7-23.
December 8 - 23, 2022
in Ballou Park (760 West Main Street)
- Daily 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Admission to the show is $10/car and $20/mini-bus/15 passenger van. Cash and credit cards will be accepted onsite.
Best in Show Vote - Each builder designates a non-profit that they decorate their spot for. Each vehicle that drives through the show receives one ballot. At the end of the route the ballot is turned in. Displays that place in the Best in Show votes receive money donated to their non-profit.

First Place - Kiwanis Club of Danville building for the Kiwanis Club of Danville
Second Place - North Main Baptist Church building for North Main Baptist Church
Third Place - Central Boulevard Church of God building for Central Boulevard Church of God
Fourth Place - Danville Krampus building for Danville Pittsylvania County Cancer Association
Fifth Place - St. Luke's UMC - Habitat for Humanity and St. Luke's Missions
Sixth Place - Fraternal Order of Eagles Piedmont Aerie 4420 building for Danville Pittsylvania County Cancer Association
Display Builders - Businesses, organizations, and families are encouraged to build a display in the Community Holiday Light Show to help spread the holiday cheer to all that visit the show. It is also a great way to support a local non-profit! There is no cost to enter a display. Over 12,000 people visit the show annually! If you would like to enter a display into the show, contact Taylor at (434) 857-3384.
Volunteer Gate Workers - Volunteer gate workers receive a portion of the money from each vehicle that attends the show the night they work.

December 19 - Central Blvd Church of God - Momentum Youth
December 20 - American Foundation for Suicide Prevention - Virginia
December 21 - Diamond Fever Softball
December 22 - Sylvia's Warriors
December 23 - Brosville UMC
Children's Village - Visit Children's Village inside Ballou Recreation Center during the hours of the show. Children's Village includes free pictures with Santa, train model display, hot chocolate, and more! Pictures with Santa will be upstairs and the other activities will be downstairs.
In 2021 a total of $17,700 was donated back to the community between the gate workers and the Best in Show contest.12,000 people attended in 3,189 cars and 23 buses. Over 300 volunteers helped make this event a success! Thank you to all of the visitors, volunteers, and builders that contributed to this event!
