The Memorial Drive Pipe Replacement Project is scheduled to start Monday May 22, 2023. The project is located approximately 0.3 miles north of the West Main Street intersection. The purpose of the project is to replace two failed corrugated metal drainage pipes with reinforced concrete pipe. Both pipes cross under Memorial Drive perpendicular to the travel lanes. The depths of the pipe bottoms range from 7’ deep to over 12’ deep. Traffic on Memorial Drive will be maintained throughout the project to the maximum extent practicable. Lane reductions and flaggers for traffic will be necessary in order to safely and effectively perform the work.
Construction Estimate: $289,000
Funding Source: VDOT Maintenance Funds
Expected Construction Completion: June 2023
