Responsibilities
  • Provides financial management for all City funds, including the City’s investment and debt portfolios
  • Maintains an accounting and reporting system in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Plans and administers debt policies and debt issues
  • Prepares the City's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report
  • Prepares the Annual Unclaimed Property Report.
Awards
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awards a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. In order to be awarded a Certificate of Achievement, a government must publish an easily readable and efficiently organized Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. This report must satisfy both generally accepted accounting principles and applicable legal requirements.

The City of Danville has received this award for 28 consecutive years.
