Danville Parks and Recreation, Averett University and Danville Braves will play host to the NCAA Division III South Region Baseball Tournament this weekend at American Legion Post 325 Stadium.
The six-team tournament will be double elimination and will start on Thursday at 11 a.m.
“We are proud to host this year’s tournament,” said Danville Parks and Recreation Director Bill Sgrinia. “Not only because we will have the opportunity to showcase a facility that is consistently voted as the best in the Appalachian League, but we can also showcase our community. Good luck to all of the teams and we hope the players, their families, and their fans enjoy their stay in Danville.”
Salisbury (30-8) will face Roanoke (29-16) at 11 a.m. on Thursday followed by LaGrange (38-4) and Otterbein (31-12) at 2:30 p.m. and Rowan (28-16) versus Emory (27-12) at 6 p.m.
The tournament will continue at 11 a.m. on Friday with additional games at 2:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.; Games Seven, Eight and Nine will be played on Saturday and Games 10 and 11 on Sunday.
Tickets can be purchased on site. The cost is $10/day for general admission; $5/day for students/faculty/staff/children 5 and older; children 5 and up are free.
A tournament pass can be purchased for $30; $15 for students/faculty/staff/children 5 and older.
