A Grand Jury recently convened and charged a man for his involvement in the 2010 death of Derrick Jose Harris.
Raheem Montaz Knight, age 23, of Danville was charged with:
1) Voluntary Manslaughter
2) Malicious Wounding
3) Shoot at Occupied Vehicle
4) Discharging Firearm Resulting in Bodily Injury
5) Concealed Weapon

He was arrested yesterday evening and is currently being held in the Danville City Jail under no bond.

Two men were injured and one man was killed in a shooting that occurred early this morning.
At approximately 2:10am today Danville Police responded to Pulley Automotive located on Kentuck Road for a report of shots fired. Officers arrived on scene but did not find anyone injured. Shortly after this call was received, individuals began arriving at Danville Regional Medical Center’s Emergency Department with gunshot wounds. A 19-year-old male and 28-year-old male, both from Danville sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the incident. A third man did not survive and was pronounced dead at approximately 3:22am by hospital staff. He was identified as Derrick Jose Harris, age 27 of Alton, VA. The body was sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Roanoke this morning for an autopsy. Crime Scene Search Unit and Investigations Division personnel responded and continue to investigate.
Raheem Montaz Knight, age 21 of Danville was arrested and charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle.
