Shortly after 1:00 pm this afternoon Danville Police, Fire, and Rescue personnel responded to the intersection of South Boston Road and Mountain Hill Road for a report of a three vehicle crash.

The investigation revealed that a 1999 Dodge Stratus was traveling in the eastbound lane of South Boston Road. The Dodge had just passed the intersection of Mountain Hill Road when it struck the rear of a 2009 Toyota Tacoma being operated by a 28-year-old female from Ringgold, VA. The Toyota veered left and came to a rest in the median. The Dodge continued and struck the rear of a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu. The occupants of the Chevrolet, a 52-year-old female and 54-year-old male, both from Alton, VA were transported to Danville Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. All vehicle occupants were wearing seat belts and / or secured in child restraint seats.

As a result of the crash Jessica Sarah Brendle, age 35 of Milton, NC was charged with fail to maintain proper control.
