A Danville man is in jail following a burglary that occurred shortly after noon today.
At approximately 12:17 pm the dispatch center received a 911 call for a report of a residential burglary in progress in the 500 block of Worsham Street. Upon arrival Danville Police observed an individual carrying property away from the scene on foot. The suspect ran, and after a brief chase that led to River Street, he was apprehended. The suspect was identified as James Edward Ferrell, age 25 of Danville. The Danville Police Department already held outstanding warrants for Ferrell for Breaking and Entering (2 counts), Petit Larceny (2 counts), Malicious Damage (1 count), as well as a Probation Violation (1 count).
As a result of the incident today Ferrell was charged with another count of Breaking and Entering, another count of Petit Larceny, and another count of Malicious Damage.
Ferrell is currently being held in the Danville City Jail under no bond.
