Ronald C. Ball, a thirty-seven year veteran of law enforcement, was promoted to the rank of Lt. Colonel on August 1, 2007. He joined the Sheriff’s Office on April 1, 1992 after twenty-one years of service with the Danville Police Department.
The Chief Deputy is responsible for the daily operations of the Danville Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Office is made up of three divisions: Court Services, Civil Process and City Jail. The Chief Deputy assumes administrative command of the department in the absence of the Sheriff.
Lt. Colonel Ball has served on the Board of Trustees for the City of Danville Retirement System, Past President of Westover Sertoma Club, and member of Morotock Masonic Lodge #210, member of Sons of American Legion Post #325.
