MARCH OF DIMES

The March of Dimes is an organization which works through corporate and individual donations and support to help in the fight against birth defects.  The Danville Sheriff’s Office works with the local March of Dimes chapter to help raise awareness of and garner support for the March of Dimes.  Danville is host to a local telethon once a year in which our deputies help to answer phones and take pledges.  Not only do the deputies volunteer their time, they also collect money throughout the department for a donation.

The March of Dimes WalkAmerica is held yearly in the spring.  Some of the deputies volunteer their time to work security at the walk site while others form a team to walk.  Once again the deputies collect money from within the department, from family and also friends and acquaintances to make a donation to this worth while cause.
