Maintenance Code Inspection Program

The Maintenance Code Inspection Program is aimed at the maintenance of existing buildings and structures, whether occupied or not. The enforcement of this program is under the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (VUSBC). The VUSBC regulations facilitate the maintenance of existing buildings to ensure the protection of the public health, safety and welfare. The Maintenance Code Inspectors handle tenant and citizen complaints, unsafe condition, unsafe structures, abandoned structures and demolitions.
