River City TV will broadcast live Tuesday’s public meeting regarding the coal ash spill and the response from Virginia agencies. The meeting will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. in the City Council Chambers on the fourth floor of the Municipal Building.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide a public update on how Virginia state agencies are responding and their planned next steps. The Virginia Department on Environmental Quality will lead the meeting. Representatives from DEQ, the state Health Department, and the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries will attend and answer questions.

At 7 p.m., representatives from Duke Energy will appear before City Council to report on and answer questions regarding its progress toward remediating its coal ash spill in Eden, N.C.
In addition, City of Danville staff will report to City Council and the public on the many activities the City is doing in response to the spill.
