Danville Parks and Recreation is inviting members of the community, local civic groups, non-profits and families to be a part of the first-ever drive through light display in Ballou Park this holiday season.
The Community Christmas Light Show will run from December 15 – 27, provided at least 10 groups commit to creating a display by June 15. Displays can be hand-made or purchased and as large as 10 feet by 30 feet. Each group who registers before June 15 will receive $250 after they participate in the show. A monetary award will be given for best in show.
The event will not only provide a new tradition for the community, but will also present a fundraising opportunity for groups or non-profits. Groups who volunteer will receive a portion of the gate proceeds.
