With identity theft on the rise, the Danville Police Department will provide more opportunities for citizens to dispose of sensitive documents in a safe manner. Beginning in 2015, Police will hold four shredding events, the first of which will take place in March.
of 2015 will be held in March and May, along with an August event to coincide with National Night Out and another date in October to coincide with the Southside Show-Biz business expo, Scearce explained.
“ Identity theft is a huge problem, and it’s only getting worse,” Scearce said. “Most people have no idea of the personal information they throw away every day. We want to help you protect your identity and come out and get rid of stuff.”
