Averett University will host a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration and Day of Service on Jan. 19, featuring Dr. Shirley Davis, an author, executive coach and international speaker, as the keynote speaker. The topic will be “Reinvent Yourself and Keep the Dream Alive.”
The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the university's E. Stuart James Grant Convocation and Athletic Center at 707 Mount Cross Road.
Lunch will be provided. The cost of admission is one can of food to help feed those less fortunate.
The event is sponsored by Averett University, the Danville Register & Bee, the Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce, and Smart Beginnings Danville Pittsylvania County. Register by Jan. 12 at www.dpcchamber.org.
