The Danville Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire this morning at 8:42 AM. Units arrived on scene at 8:45 AM to find a small two-story house with the front porch and adjoining wall on fire. The fire was quickly extinguished with water from one fire engine. All occupants were out of the house on our arrival. Damage to the house was minor. We cut siding materials and part of the porch off the house to confirm there was no hidden fire. All occupants were allowed to return into the residence as it was still livable.
The DFD responded with three engines, one ladder truck, and three support vehicles. A total of 15 personnel responded and were on scene for approximately one hour.
The Fire Marshal's Office investigated and determined the cause to be discarded smoking materials.
