The Danville Fire Department arrived at 412 Arnett Blvd on May 24th at 9:21 pm to find a small one story house with moderate smoke escaping from the eaves of the house. Further investigation revealed a fire in the kitchen. The fire was quickly controlled after entering the house. There was no one home at the time of the fire. Fire severely damaged the kitchen. Smoke and heat significantly damaged the remainder of the house. The house is not livable in the current condition. The occupant will be staying with family.The Fire Marshal's Office ruled the cause accidental. Unattended cooking on the stove top was the cause. DFD personnel and apparatus remained on the scene for just under two hours. Three engines, one ladder, and three support vehicles responded from stations located on Third Ave., Piney Forest Rd., Lynn St., and Airport Dr. 18 DFD personnel were on scene.
