Danville Utilities line crews today continue efforts to restore service to customers who lost power during Thursday evening’s severe storms, which were concentrated in but not limited to the Keeling, Kentuck, Ringgold and Sutherlin communities. Those storms produced high winds that downed trees and power lines.
This morning, an estimated 200 customers remain without power. Outages are scattered, but the heaviest concentration of remaining outages is along Ferguson Road, Raven Hollow Road, Hillside Road and Bennett Drive in the Ringgold community. A contract crew is arriving to repair a broken utility pole in a wooded area off Ferguson Road.
At the height of the storms last night, an estimated 400 to 500 customers were without power. Crews worked through the night to restore power. When outages are scattered, it takes more time to restore service to all customers.
