25TH ANNUAL DANVILLE PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY FAIR

When: Opens 4 p.m. Friday
Where: Danville Pittsylvania County Fairgrounds, 1861 Milton Hwy, Ringgold, VA

Come celebrate 25 years of fun and excitement at the 2015 Annual Fair! This year’s event begins Friday, Sept. 18, and continues through Saturday, Sept. 26. This weekend, the fair features extreme monster truck shows at 7:30 p.m. on both on Friday and Saturday, and then on Sunday, come see the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show and the High Flying Pages Aerial Thrill Show. FOR EVERYONE 50 AND OLDER

When: 7 p.m. Friday
Where: Senior Center, Ballou Park, 760 W Main St, Danville, VA

The Council on Aging Youthfully will hold a country and western dance from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Dress in your western clothes. Refreshments include hot dogs, baked beans, chips and sodas. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $7.


FALL YARD SALE WITH THE FARMERS

When: 7:30 a.m. Saturday
Where: Danville Community Market, 629 Craghead St., Danville, VA

Shoppers, come out and find that great bargain or perfect gift you have been looking for at a great price at the Farmers’ Market’s fall yard sale! Also, you can clean out those closets, attics, and garages this fall and turn it into some Christmas money! Call today to reserve a booth, for $10 each. Contact: 797-8961. CCS FALL CYCLEFEST OF SPEED

When: 8 a.m. Saturday and Sunday
Where: Virginia International Raceway, 1245 Pine Tree Road, Alton, VA

VIRginia International Raceway’s Championship Cup Series End-of-Summer CycleFest brings some of motorcycle and road racing’s best teams and riders on to the track. Look for extremely close, side-by-side, knee dragging action as the contenders separate themselves from the pretenders for the coveted season crown! FAMILY MOVIE MATINEE

When: 10:30 a.m. Saturday
Where: Public Library, 511 Patton St., Danville, VA

A movie, popcorn and lemonade! Who could ask for more? Bring the family for this month’s showing of “Cinderella.” The movie is free. Contact: 799-5195, ext. 4.

DANVILLE RIBS RHYTHM & BLUES JAZZ FESTIVAL

When: 5 p.m. TO 10 p.m. Saturday
Where: Carrington Pavilion, 707 Craghead St., Danville, VA

Come out for an evening of great southern style foods and live music! Gates open at 5 p.m. Poorhouse Road Blues Band takes the stage at 6 p.m., following by saxaphonist Andy Rowland & The Chickenhead Blues Band at 7 p.m., Virginia “The Voice” Rush at 8 p.m., and jazz guitarist Terence Young at 9 p.m.
