City Council’s search committee for a city manager met today and selected proposals from three consultants to bring before the full City Council next week for further consideration. The meeting of the full City Council will take place during a special work session to be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20.
The special work session will be closed to the public.
The city is in the process of hiring a city manager to succeed Joe King, who will retire Nov. 30. To assist in the search, City Council last month issued a request for sealed proposals from consultants to perform executive search services. The consultant selected will design a recruiting effort and conduct full background, effectiveness and performance assessments of the recommended candidates.
Today, the search committee reviewed the seven proposals received. The committee is composed of Vice Mayor Gary Miller and Councilmen Alonzo Jones and Buddy Rawley.
