The Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 907 Shepard Avenue at 3:52 am this morning. Crews arrived on scene at 3:58 am and found smoke coming from the door and windows of a one story residential house. The occupant of the house was outside the structure upon arrival. Crews pulled an attack line and a back up line to attack a fire found in the front living room. The fire was quickly knocked down at 4:08 am and determined to be under control at 4:45 am. A search of the structure found no occupants inside. The living room sustained heavy smoke, heat and fire damage with the rest of the house having moderate smoke and heat damage.
The Danville Fire Department responded with 3 engines, a ladder truck, a command unit, one support unit and one fire marshal. The Danville Life Saving Crew, Danville Police Department, Danville Electric Department and Danville Water and Gas Department assisted on scene.
The cause of the fire was investigated by the fire marshals' office and determined to be electrical. Sixteen fire personnel were on the scene for one hour and forty eight minutes with no injuries reported.
