[ARCHIVED] City announces schedule for Christmas holiday

The Municipal Building and all other city of Danville administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 24, and Friday, Dec. 25, in observance of the Christmas holiday.

In addition, the public library will be closed on both days.

The James F. Ingram Justice Center (courthouse) will close for the Christmas holiday beginning at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 23.

Danville Transit will not provide service on Thursday and Friday, but Senior Transportation will transport dialysis patients to and from the dialysis clinic on Christmas Eve.

Household refuse and yard waste scheduled for Friday pickup will be collected instead on Saturday, Dec. 26. Residents who receive Thursday pickup will see no change in collections that week, with pickup remaining on that day as normally scheduled.

Danville Utilities workers will answer emergency calls and restore service as needed over the Christmas holiday.

Danville Regional Airport will remain open for the Christmas holiday.

On New Year’s Day, Danville’s administrative offices and the library will be closed. The courthouse will be closed on both New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Danville Transit will provide service on New Year’s Eve, but there will be no service on New Year’s Day.
