Street milling and paving operations will require alternating lane closures next week on Mountain View Avenue at the Averett University campus and sections of Lockett Drive and westbound Riverside Drive at the city limits.
Weather permitting, the work is scheduled as follows:
• Mountain View Avenue, from West Main Street to the dead end, Monday, June 6, to Wednesday, June 8. Parking on the street will be prohibited during the milling and paving operation.
• Lockett Street, from West Main Street to Cherry Lane, Tuesday, June 7, to Thursday, June 9.
• Riverside Drive, westbound lanes from Stallings Collision to the city limits, Wednesday, June 8, to Friday, June 10.
Travel will be allowed on these streets, but lanes will be shifted as the work progresses.
Motorists are urged to slow down and be alert to altered traffic patterns or consider an alternate route.
