The Danville Fire Department was dispatched to 134 White Street for a possible fire on Thursday night (6/9/16) at 11:05 pm. First units found a small 2-story house with smoke showing. The fire was extinguished quickly. More information will be sent later this morning.
The DFD is currently at a second working fire at 1236 West Main Street. This is a large, multi-story apartment building next door to Hardees. First units on scene advised they had smoke showing and the fire had extended to the next floor. This call was dispatched at 11:44 pm on 6/9/16. All DFD units were tied up on the two fires. Currently we have 5 engines, 3 aerials, and multiple support vehicles on scene. The fire is under control as of this release. The DFD has also called in off-duty personnel to assist at the fire and to man apparatus in the City. More information will be sent out as the situation allows.
