The City of Danville today reopened the two eastbound lanes of Riverside Drive from the bridge over the Sandy River in front of the Danville Plaza shopping center to the bridge over Sandy Creek.
All major traffic movements to the shopping center have been restored.
A contract crew completed the reconstruction project on Friday. Over the weekend, City of Danville traffic control workers striped the lanes.
The reconstruction project, which began on June 6, consisted of the removal of the existing asphalt pavement and concrete base, and placement of a new stone base and layer of asphalt. The new base and surface eliminates the previous uncomfortable riding surface.
White’s Construction Co. of Sutherlin was the contractor.
