Danville Harvest Jubilee will continue its River District Fridays music series on Friday, July 1, with the band Funky Bone playing funk rock music.
The series, formerly known as Fridays at the Crossing, will take place in the Community Market parking lot at 629 Craghead St. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. for all shows and tickets cost $5 on site. Happy hour specials will run from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. No outside food or beverages allowed.
Funky Bone is a Lynchburg funk rock music band that covers artists such as James Brown, Prince, Rick James, Lenny Kravits, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Parliament, Bruno Mars, Maroon 5 and Daft Punk. The band performed here two years ago at Fridays at the Crossing and at Festival in the Park. The band features Chris Thomas on bass, Lonnie Daye on drums, Danny Savarese on percussion, Gerod Lyle on keyboards, Chris Loder on guitar and Melvin Pribble on guitar. Daye, Loder and Pribble are vocalists.
This week’s concert is one of two remaining River District Fridays events scheduled this summer. The final concert will be held on Sept. 2 with Josh Phillips in concert.
