The Danville Farmers’ Market will feature a cooking demonstration by Alani Adkins ofVirginia Cooperative Extension on Saturday, Aug. 6. The demonstration kicks off National Farmers’ Week.
The event begins at 8 a.m. It is free and open to the public.
Citizens are urged to celebrate the week by supporting the local farmers’ market, which is open every Saturday through October from 7:30 a.m. to noon and on Wednesdays through August from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
On Wednesday, Aug. 10, citizens attending the farmers’ market can register for prizes, with winners being announced at 11 a.m. at the market on Saturday, Aug. 13. The grand prize will be a large gift basket of market goods. The second prize is a summer wreath, and the third prize will be a prize bag from the Danville Public Library.
