A man wanted for armed robbery was shot this afternoon off of Springfield Road.
At approximately 4:16 pm today Danville Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 800 block of Springfield Road. Upon arrival they found Randolph Scott Jones Jr. (See previous release dated 1-21-11) in a parking lot suffering from gunshot injuries. He was transported to Danville Regional Medical Center and quickly carried into surgery. Jones' condition is described as serious. The investigation is active and ongoing at this time with Investigators and Crime Scene Search Unit personnel currently on scene.
