The Danville Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire at 30 Oak Ridge Avenue on Sunday 9/25/16 at 12:48 AM. The first arriving engine reported smoke showing from a small, one-story house. The occupants were outside the house and advised the fire was in a back room. Firefighters entered the house and extinguished the fire quickly. The room on fire sustained major damage and the rest of the house sustained moderate smoke damage. The cause of the fire was a shorted out extension cord.
There were no injuries at the fire. The occupants will be staying with a neighbor overnight.
The DFD remained on scene for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Three engines, one ladder, and two support vehicles responded to the scene with a total of 16 personnel.
