[ARCHIVED] House Fire at 719 E. Green Street

The Danville Fire Department responded to a house fire at 719 E. Green St. this morning (10/16/16) at 1:25 am. The first apparatus on scene advised heavy smoke coming from a small, 1-story house. Fire companies entered the house and extinguished the blaze. A search of the interior found no one inside. After the search was completed a person walked up and advised he had been inside the house and requested to be transported to DRMC. The Danville Life Saving Crew transported him with a non-life threatening injury.
The Assistant Fire Marshal responded and helped with the investigation of the fire cause. He determined the fire started in the kitchen and was electrical. The kitchen area suffered significant damage and the entire house had smoke damage. The Red Cross was contacted to assist the two occupants of the residence.
The DFD was on scene for 2 hours and 20 minutes. 16 personnel responded on 3 engines, 1 ladder, and 3 support vehicles. Danville Utilities and the Danville Police Dept. also assisted on the scene.
