CREEPY CANDY CRAWL
When: 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday
Where: Main Street in the River District, Danville, VA
The River District Association and River District businesses will host the third annual “Creepy Candy Crawl.” Parents are invited to bring their children, ages 12 and under, downtown for a fun afternoon of business-to-business trick-or-treating along Main and Craghead streets. To ensure child safety, Main Street and connector streets will be closed for the event; however, businesses will be open. RACE WEEKEND AT MARTINSVILLE
When: Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Where: Martinsville Speedway, Ridgeway, VA
The race weekend starts on Friday with Virginia Lottery Pole Day and continues on Saturday with the Texas Roadhouse 200 presented by Alpha Energy Solutions NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race.
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is in action Sunday with the Goody’s Fast Relief 500.
The Goody’s Fast Relief 500 is the first race in the Round of 8 of the Chase.

HISTORICAL HALLOWEEN

Where: Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History, 975 Main St., Danville, VA
For Halloween, the museum presents “Voices from Danville’s Past: A historical waking tour of Old Grove Street Cemetery.” Before the tour, gather at the museum for hot cider and funnel cakes in the museum’s auditorium. Four tours are held each night: 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets are limited to 20 people per tour. Tickets are $13 in advance and $15 at the door. For members, tickets are $10. NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD

Where: The Historic North Theatre, 629 North Main Street, Danville, VA
Watch this showing of the 1969 original classic horror film “Night of the Living Dead” directed by George A. Romero and starring Duane Jones and Judith O’Dea. Night of the Living Dead was heavily criticized at its release for its explicit gore. It eventually garnered critical acclaim and has been selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the National Film Registry as a film deemed “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.” The film has spawned numerous movies and the television series. FINAL FARMERS’ MARKET

Where: Danville Community Market, 629 Craghead St., Danville, VA
The Danville Farmers’ Market will close for the season on Saturday, Oct. 29, with vendors selling local produce, meat, eggs, plants, flowers, baked goods and homemade gifts from 7:30 a.m. to noon at the Community Market, which is located at 629 Craghead St.
The Farmers’ Market will reopen on Saturday, Jan. 7, with the second season of the Winter Market, which will feature baked goods, wine, meats, eggs, coffee, crafts and seasonal produce.
In addition, the annual Holiday Bazaar will be held on Saturday, Nov. 19, and the annual Holiday Market on Saturday, Dec. 3.
1963 CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT EXHIBIT

TRUNK-OR-TREAT HALLOWEEN SPOOTACULAR

Where: AAF Tank Museum, 3401 U.S. 29 Business, Danville, VA
This will be the event’s second year. Stroll through the entire corridor of the tank museum, trunk or treat, have your face painted, meet and greet different characters, listen to Halloween music, enjoy free food and more.
