Danville Parks and Recreation recently announced the inclusion of a new Online registration software to the www.PlayDanvilleVA.com website, providing consumers an improved sign up and account management process.
“We are excited about this,” said Department Director Bill Sgrinia. “The new software will not only afford our customers a smoother Online visit, but will also provide an easier way to locate programs and interests.”
The initial feature of the software is the tabbed program browsing which can be accessed by visiting PlayDanvilleVA.com and clicking on “Sign Up Online.” Programs are arranged by category consistent with the PlayDanvilleVA magazine and can also be filtered by location, age group and day of the week.
“We want our customers to easily find programs of interest,” Sgrinia said. “The browsing feature alone makes this change well worth it. Now users can go right to the category in which they would like to participate, find a program and register. There shouldn’t be more than two or three clicks before registration is complete.”
The tabbed browsing is also mobile friendly and allows for a better browsing experience on smaller screens.
Customers are also now able to create an account through their Google and Facebook accounts, manage family registrations, signup multiple users for multiple programs all in one transaction and view their household’s activity calendars.
“Customer service is a top priority for us,” Sgrinia added. “We strongly believe the upgrades to the Online side of our registration process has raised the bar. At the end of the day our goal is the same: help create a happy and healthy community; we believe by improving the process for those users who register Online is one of the many ways in which we can accomplish that goal.”

“We certainly welcome everyone to register with the method they are most comfortable. Online is just one of the many tools we hope to use to engage the citizens of Danville and surrounding areas.”
