Christmas Parade logo

Danville Police will close Main Street to all traffic at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, in preparation for the annual Riverview Rotary Christmas Parade. All vehicles should be removed from Main Street at 12:30 p.m.

In addition, Craghead Street and other streets along the parade route will be closed at 2:30 p.m.

The parade will begin at 3 p.m. The parade route will begin at the corner of Main and Broad Streets and end at the corner of Main and Craghead streets. Float traffic will continue on Craghead Street to Newton Street and end at Newton’s Landing.

This year's parade theme will be “Twelve Days of Christmas.” To get rid of the gaps, there will be no performer's area.

There will be no awards ceremony after the parade.

The annual Ugly Sweater/Jingle Bell Fun Run will take place prior to the start of the parade. The run will follow the parade route from Rison and Broad streets to Main and Craghead streets. There is no cost to participate. No registration is required; just show up at the starting line around 2:45 p.m.

For more information about the parade and the fun, call the Danville Welcome Center at 434-793-4636.
