[ARCHIVED] City seeks vendors for home improvement expo

The City of Danville is seeking qualified vendors and tradesmen to participate in a home maintenance and landscaping expo scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 6, at the Community Market.

This expo will kick off the fifth annual Make Danville Shine campaign, which is a month-long initiative to encourage residents to clean-up, paint-up and fix-up their property.

“The expo will connect home and garden experts with residents who are planning renovation or beautification projects or simply looking for inspiration,” said Jackie Wells, planning specialist for the Community Development Department's housing and development division. “Once again, we will hold the expo in conjunction with the season opener of the Farmer’s Market, so there will be hundreds of potential customers in attendance for vendors and tradesmen to interact with face-to-face.”

In addition to reaching potential clients in one central location, the expo will be an opportunity to gain valuable exposure, positive publicity and community goodwill through this high profile event.

Space for vendors will be provided free of charge.

The City welcomes experts in the areas of landscaping, pest control, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting, roofing, siding, masonry, and more. Financial institutions, product representatives and general home contractors also are needed.

Business and individuals interested in participating should contact Jackie Wells at 799-5260 x2514 by April 1 to reserve a free vendor booth. Space is limited.
