The City of Danville is joining with the Dan River Region Association of REALTORS to host a Fair Housing and Homeownership Symposium on Tuesday, April 25, at the Community Market, 629 Craghead St.
The event is being held to introduce new strategies and methods for creating homeowners in the city.
“The symposium will bring together professionals in the housing industry, prospective homebuyers and local and regional topic experts,” Jackie Wells, housing and development planning specialist for the City of Danville, said Thursday. “Symposium attendees will learn why homeownership is a critical investment not only for every family, but for Danville as a whole.”
Wells said the event will begin at 9 a.m. with a free breakfast. Morning sessions will address fair housing rights and crime prevention strategies. Following a free lunch, afternoon sessions will focus on opportunities for home ownership and investing.
The symposium concludes with a networking session from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., during which a live auction will be held.
