The Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 1225 Paxton Street this evening at 11:20pm. Crews arrived at 11:23pm and found fire behind the residence. Upon further investigation, crews found a 16 x 30 outbuilding heavily involved with fire. Engine 3’s crew pulled an attack line and began extinguishment. An additional attack line was pulled by Engine 1’s crew to assist. The fire was knocked down and determined to be under control at 11:39pm. The building was unoccupied and being used for storage.
The Danville Fire Department responded with 3 engines, a ladder truck, a command unit, one support unit and one fire marshal. Eighteen fire personnel were on the scene for two hours and 49 minutes. The Danville Life Saving Crew, Danville Police Department, Danville Water and Gas Department assisted on scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office. No injuries were reported.
