On Monday, May 8, and Tuesday, May 9, the City of Danville will close Union Street bridge to allow for milling and paving of Union Street Bridge Road from Memorial Drive to Riverside Drive.
The closure will require traffic on Riverside Drive and Memorial Drive to use the Aiken Bridge or Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Bridge to cross the river.
The detour will begin at 6 a.m. Monday, weather permitting. The bridge will be reopened Tuesday evening.
Detour signs will be in place to redirect traffic.
