[ARCHIVED] Abreu-Grogan boathouse will be closed Saturday

Due to the tubing trips taking place at the Danville Children’s Festival, the Abreu-Grogan Boathouse will be closed this Saturday, June 17.

Boat rentals can still be made during the week by calling (434) 799-5150.

Danville Parks and Recreation will host free tubing trips (ages 8 and up) during the Children’s Festival. The trips will take place at 11 p.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. Trips are first-come, first-served and will hold 20 people; life jackets and transportation will be provided.

The Danville Children’s Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Carrington Pavilion. The event is free and open to the public. Interested tubers can sign up behind the Pavilion in the Parks and Recreation Splash Zone.

The Boathouse will return to its regular Saturday hours (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) on Saturday, June 24.
