The Police Department will hold a free document shredding event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, at the URW Community Federal Credit Union on Lowes Drive. The event will give citizens an opportunity to rid their homes of personal paperwork and excess file storage.
The event is part of the department’s community shredding program. Shredding documents such as bank statements and canceled checks that contain personal information helps protect from identity theft. The department has again partnered with Commonwealth Document Management to bring area citizens this valuable resource.
