Music on Main logo 2017

Danville Parks and Recreation’s Music on Main concert series will continue in the River District at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10, with the Americana, bluegrass and acoustic mayhem sound of the Wampler Brothers Band.

The Yorktown-based band performs often in the Tidewater area from Williamsburg to Virginia Beach. The band members are Bill Wampler on mandolin and guitar, Mark Wampler on bass, John Westbrook on guitar and Jay Shenk on viola.

The concert is free and will be held at Main Street Plaza at 111 Main St. The public is encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket.

The music series is now in its fourth year and has continually brought music into Danville’s River District. The final show in this year’s series will be on Aug. 24, with the salsa sound of West End Mambo.

All shows in the series are free and start at 6:30 p.m. In case of bad weather, concerts will be moved to Carrington Pavilion. For more information, call Danville Welcome Center at 434-793-4636.
