Learn more about domestic violence in communities and the laws protecting the rights of victims of domestic violence at a conference to be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31, at the Center for Housing Education at 502 Franklin St.
The event, “Ending the Silence and Healing the Home,” is free and lunch will be provided, but participants must register by Friday, Oct. 27, by contacting Norma Brower at firstname.lastname@example.org with the individual/agency name and number attending. Brower is a housing and redevelopment specialist with the City of Danville’s Community Development Department.
Speakers will include representatives from Haven of the Dan River Region, the Virginia Fair Housing Office, the state Office of the Attorney General, Social Services, the Police Department and Danville Redevelopment & Housing Authority.
