During the month of November, you may notice some Danville Police officers wearing a little more facial hair than normal.
The Police Department will be allowing officers to participate in "No Shave November" sponsored by the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 36.
With the donation of $10 to the FOP Lodge 36 "Cops and Kids" program, officers of the Danville Police Department will be allowed to grow facial hair for the month of November 2017.
The "Cops and Kids" program helps provide charitable services for children in need during Christmas. It also provides an opportunity for children and law enforcement to interact in a positive way while Christmas shopping for clothing and toys.
On Dec. 1, all police personnel will return to regular department grooming standards.
