[ARCHIVED] City offices will be closed for Thanksgiving holiday

Happy Thanksgiving poster

The Municipal Building and all other City of Danville administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23, and Friday, Nov. 24, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

In addition, the public library will be closed on both days.

The James F. Ingram Justice Center (courthouse) will be closed beginning at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 22

Danville Transit will not operate on Thanksgiving Day, but will operate on regular service hours on Friday and Saturday.

Household trash and yard waste collection normally scheduled for Thursday pickup will be collected on Saturday, Nov. 25, instead of Thanksgiving Day. Residents who regularly have Friday pickup will see no change in collections, with pickup for trash and yard waste remaining on that day as normally scheduled.

Danville Regional Airport will be open. Danville Utilities workers will answer emergency calls and restore service as needed over the Thanksgiving holiday.

The library’s main branch on Patton Street reopens on Saturday, Nov. 25. The library’s Westover branch, the courthouse and all city administrative offices reopen on Monday, Nov. 27.
