The fourth annual Community Holiday Light Show is underway, with shows each night at Ballou Park through Christmas Day, except for Christmas Eve. The show begins at 6 p.m. and closes at 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
The show began Saturday, Dec. 9.
Last year, 2,517 cars and 31 buses carrying an estimated 9,600 people visited the park for the light show, which is a drive-through event featuring light displays created by local individuals, families and organizations.
Enter the park at its Park Avenue entrance. Volunteer groups will be there to direct traffic through the park. The cost is $7 per car and $15 for buses and 15-passenger vans. Discount nights ($5 per car and $10 per bus and passenger van) will be held on Monday, Dec. 11, Tuesday, Dec. 12, Monday, Dec. 18, and Tuesday, Dec. 19.
The event also includes the Children's Village, which is included in the price of admission, and will be open until 9 p.m. through Dec. 23. Snacks and beverages and free photos with Santa Claus are part of the village.
During the two-week event, the public will be given the opportunity to vote on their favorite display. A donation will be made to the winner’s choice of non-profit.
