The Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structurefire at 260 Eastwood Drive Lot 12 this afternoon at 12:30pm. Crews arrived at 12:35pm and found heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of a singlewide trailer.The occupant was out of the structure upon arrival. Engine 7’s crew pulled 2- 1¾” fire hose and begana defensive operation protecting the exposures and attacking the fire. Engine1’s crew secured a water supply for Engine 7 and then pulled an additional hoseline for extinguishment. The fire was knocked down and determined to beunder control at 1:10 pm. The house sustained heavy fire damage throughout thestructure.
The occupant was treated on scene for smoke inhalation andtransported to SOVAH Hospital by the Danville Life Saving Crew.
The Danville Fire Department responded with three engines, aladder truck, a command unit, one support unit and one Fire Marshal. Sixteen firepersonnel were on the scene for 2 hours. The Danville Life Saving Crew,Danville Police Department, Danville Electric Department and the Danville Waterand Gas Department assisted on scene.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the FireMarshal’s office. No injuries to fire personnel were reported.
