A Danville man was arrested early this morning after taking a truck in North Danville.
At approximately 2:12 am this morning Danville Police Officers responded to the area of Norwood Drive for a report of someone attempting to steal a dump truck from a construction site. When officers arrived in the area they observed a dump truck traveling on Norwood Drive. They initiated a traffic stop of the truck, but the driver continued traveling at a low speed in an around North Main St. and Norwood Dr. before the driver finally stopped in the 400 block of Norwood. The driver was identified as Robert Marion Julian Register, age 22 of Danville. He was charged with Driving Under the Influence, Grand Larceny, Suspended Operator's License, and Elude Police. He is currently being held in the Danville City Jail under a $5,000 secured bond.
