The Danville Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 101 Justin Ln. in Danville this afternoon shortly after 3pm. Units arrived to find a two story residential structure with heavy fire and smoke coming from the front of the structure. It was quickly determined that all occupants were out of the structure as crews began an interior attack on the fire. Crews made entry and were able to bring the fire under control in approximately 15 minutes. Followed by about an hour and a half searching for hidden fires and extinguishing them. The occupants were not home at the time of the fire but returned home to discover the fire and notify the fire department. The structure received heavy fire damage to the front half of the structure and heavy smoke and heat damage to the remaining half. Three engines, one ladder truck a chief officer and a safety officer responded to the initial alarm. The fire marshal responded to the scene and conducted an investigation in which the cause of the fire was determined to be an overloaded electrical outlet. No injuries were reported but several pets died as a result of the fire.
