The Virginia State Board of Elections has issued an official notice that a Republican Party primary election will be held on Tuesday, June 12, to nominate a candidate for the U.S. Senate.
Candidates running for the seat include Nick Freitas, E.W. Jackson, Bert Mizusawa, Ivan Raitklin and Corey Stewart.
The deadline to register to vote in the primary or to update an existing registration is May 21. The deadline to request an absentee ballot to be mailed to you is 5 p.m. on June 5.
The General Election will be held Nov. 6.
