The Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structure
fire at 136 Lynch Street this morning at 5:01 am. Crews arrived at 5:07 am and found
heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of a singlewide trailer. Engine 7’s
crew pulled 1¾” fire hose and began attacking the fire. Engine 1’s crew secured
a water supply for Engine 7 and then pulled an additional hose line for
extinguishment. The fire was knocked down and determined to be
under control at 5:32 am. The house sustained heavy fire and smoke damage
throughout the structure. The house was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
The Danville Fire Department responded with three engines, a
ladder truck, a command unit, one support unit and one Fire Marshal. Sixteen fire
personnel were on the scene for 2 hours. The Danville Life Saving Crew,
Danville Police Department, Danville Electric Department and the Danville Water
and Gas Department assisted on scene.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Fire
Marshal’s office. No injuries were reported to fire personnel.
